bottle factory

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 19, 2026 · Last Updated: April 19, 2026

1. Introduction

Bottle Factory is an iOS app that helps parents and caregivers track their baby's feedings and share that information with a partner or co-caregiver. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Bottle Factory is operated by Jonathan Dear, an individual developer ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account and using the app, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Who the App Is For

Bottle Factory is designed for adult parents and caregivers. It is not directed to children, and children do not use the app themselves. When you record information about your baby — such as feeding times, amounts, or duration — you are the one entering that information, and you are responsible for the data you choose to record.

If you are under 18, please do not use the app without a parent or legal guardian's involvement.

3. Information We Collect

Account Information. Bottle Factory uses Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google to create and access your account. We do not create or store passwords. When you sign in, we receive:

  • A unique user identifier from Apple or Google
  • Your email address (or a private relay email, if you choose that option with Apple)
  • Your name, if you choose to provide it

Feeding Data You Record. When you use the app, you record information about your baby's feedings, which may include:

  • Feeding times (start and end)
  • Feeding amounts (in ounces or milliliters)
  • Feeding duration

This information is stored on our cloud backend so it can sync across your devices and be shared with a co-caregiver you invite.

Sharing Information. When you create or accept a share link/code to connect with a co-caregiver (for example, a partner), we store the connection between your accounts so that both of you can see the same feeding log.

Purchase Information. Bottle Factory is available as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. Apple processes your payment — we never receive or store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details. Apple provides us with a receipt or confirmation that you purchased the app.

Device and Technical Information. To deliver the app's features, we process limited technical information such as:

  • A device token used to send push notifications (provided by Apple)
  • Basic request information (such as IP address and timestamps) in our server logs, used for security and troubleshooting

We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs in Bottle Factory.

4. How iOS Features Use Your Information

Bottle Factory integrates with several iOS features. These run on your device and use the information you've already recorded in the app:

  • Live Activities: Display the current feeding status on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
  • Widgets: Show the last feeding time and other details on your Home Screen or Lock Screen.
  • Siri: Lets you log or ask about feedings using voice commands. Voice processing is handled by Apple, not by us. Please review Apple's privacy policy for details on how Siri handles voice data.
  • Push Notifications: Used to alert you and your co-caregiver about feeding-related events (for example, when a partner logs a feeding). You can disable push notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide the core features of the app, including recording and syncing feeding data
  • Enable sharing between you and a co-caregiver you invite
  • Send push notifications you've opted into
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure
  • Troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and maintain the reliability of our servers
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

6. How Sharing Works Between Co-Caregivers

The sharing feature is central to how Bottle Factory works, and we want to be clear about what it means for your data:

  • When you share a feeding log with another person by sending them a share link or code, anyone who accepts that code will be able to see, add, and edit feeding entries in that shared log.
  • Once someone joins a shared log, they have ongoing access until you (or they) remove that access through the app.
  • You are responsible for who you invite and for revoking access when appropriate. If you no longer want someone to have access to your shared log — for example, after a relationship change — you can remove them through the app's sharing settings.
  • Feeding data entered by one co-caregiver will be visible to all other co-caregivers on the shared log.

7. How We Share Information With Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information only in these situations:

Service providers: We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the app, including a cloud hosting provider for our backend and Apple for sign-in, purchases, and push notification delivery. These providers only process information as needed to provide their services to us.

Legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.

Business changes: If Bottle Factory is ever sold, merged, or transferred to another owner, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you beforehand through the app or by email.

With your consent: We will share information in other ways only if you direct us to.

8. Data Retention

We keep your account and feeding data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your feeding data and personal information from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. Backup copies may persist for a limited time before being overwritten.

If a shared log is used by multiple co-caregivers, deleting your account will remove you from the shared log, but the feeding data entered into that log may remain accessible to the other co-caregivers.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our backend. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us right away.

10. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and update: You can view and edit the information in your account directly in the app.
  • Delete your account: You can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at the email address below, or through any in-app account deletion option we provide.
  • Manage sharing: You can add or remove co-caregivers through the app's sharing settings.
  • Push notifications: You can turn push notifications on or off at any time in iOS Settings.
  • Sign-in providers: You can manage your connection to Sign in with Apple or Google through your Apple ID or Google account settings.

11. Children's Privacy

Bottle Factory is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 as users of the app. Information about a baby (such as feeding times or amounts) is recorded and controlled by the parent or caregiver using the app, and it is the parent or caregiver's responsibility to decide what to record.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account directly, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete the account.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app, by email, or both before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy shows when it was most recently revised. Your continued use of Bottle Factory after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
